The dead sea is home to many natural beautifying elements such as seaweed, algae, sea salt and sea mud that have been used for their high concentrations of nutrients. Seaweed is an especially touted ingredient because of it’s healing powers that can easily be tolerated by sensitive skin types. Natural seaweed extracts, oils and vitamins are used in skin care to restore radiance to the skin by providing it with nutrients it may be lacking. Seaweed is also a major constituent in modern Japanese skin care because of it’s natural tendency to reduce excessive irritation and redness. Continual use of natural seaweed skin care can improve skin’s elasticity and increase levels of hydration to promote a healthy complexion. There are different types of seaweed that can be more effective than others. The main types of seaweed used in products are green, red and brown seaweed, which each have a different role in contributing to the care of your skin:

Green seaweed is high in vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12 which is useful in protecting the skin’s surface and reduction of inflammation. It is also said that these nutrients are able to penetrate deep into the skin more efficiently than other skin care ingredients to help your skin maintain it’s firmness and bright tone. This seaweed is specifically known for it’s therapeutic properties in treatment of dry, oily, sensitive and acne prone skin. These skin types respond well to the hydrating properties of green seaweed. This power plant is packed with high concentrations of minerals which will enable you to achieve a irritation-free and restored skin complexion.

Red algae is rich in nutrients such as fluorine, magnesium and calcium. A commonly used red seaweed – asparagopsis armata – is high in anti-bacterial properties that works well for the treatment of acne. This seaweed is best for drawing out impurities and toxins and regulating oil levels on your face. Natural red algae is popular in spa treatments for oily or acne prone skin because of it’s ability to work gently to promote circulation and healthy skin rejuvenation.

Brown seaweed is a savior for dry skin. The minerals contained in this sea bound plant help to maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance – which is neither too dry or too oily. Brown seaweed is able to give you a moist, dewy complexion because of it’s ability to penetrate deep into the skin and balance out unruly skin tone. Brown algae can maintain a luminous appearance to your skin by mildly exfoliating dead skin cells to brighten your overall complexion.

Epsom salts are named for the mineral rich waters of Epsom, England, where they were known at least as far back as Shakespeare’s day. When bathing, the magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) is absorbed through the skin and is an inexpensive and natural way to reduce stress, treat skin problems, and draw toxins from the body.

Epsom salts has been a long time remedy natural remedy for a number of ailments. An Epsom salts bath is known to relieve aching limbs, muscle strain and back pain. In addition, it has been known to heal cuts, reduce soreness from childbirth and relieves colds and congestion. Furthermore, Epsom salts will flush toxins and heavy metals from the body.

Epsom saltst is a natural stress reliever too. Stress drains the body of magnesium. An Epsom salts bath absorbs magnesium into our body thus helping to relieve stress. The magnesium helps to produce adequate amounts of serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation.

Epsom salts has many uses, as an all body exfoliate to remove dead skin cells and promote circulation, as a foot soaking agent to smooth, relax and refreshes your feet and neutralize odors, and as a facial exfoliate.

Below are some easy skin care recipes using Epsom saltd. The cost is minimal yet very beneficial for your skin.

Just Like the Spa!

Massage a handful of Epsom Salt mixed with 1-tablespoon bath oil or olive oil and rub all over wet skin to cleanse exfoliate and soften the rough spots! Rinse well. Note recommended on freshly shaved legs.

Easy Facial Cleanser:

Epsom Salt Detox Bath Recipe

2 Tablespoons bath oil

Pour the ingredients into the tub while the tub is filling.

Epsom salts has wonderful properties and uses that are beneficial to the mind, body, and soul. In addition, the cost of a box of Epsom salts is so minimal compared to all the fancy packaged skin care products, that you can indulge yourself as much as you like.

For those people that suffer from high blood pressure, heart problems, or diabetes, you should consult your doctor prior to using an Epsom salt bath. Additionally, the information provided above is not intended to replace the care or advice of a physician if you suffer from skin disorders, severe stress or anxiety, or other health problems.

I am a woman who has suffered hair loss in the forms of telogen effluvium (TE) or chronic telogen effluvium (CTE) several times throughout my life. Over the years, I have done countless hours of research and probably tried thousands of dollars worth of products. Some have worked and some have actually made my hair loss worse. I need to disclose that I’ve never found a hair loss shampoo that could stop hair loss overnight. But, there are products though that can control or decrease shedding and / or can support healthy regrowth by decreasing inflammation.

Finding the best hair loss shampoo for you requires defining what you are looking for in a product. For example, do you prefer a natural or herb based product or are you more interested in concentrated products that reduce DHT or soothe inflammation?

Here is a list of what I consider to be the best. Because I’ve suffered TE and chronic TE, I do not rely as heavily on very harsh DHT blockers. I like products that clean and nourish my scalp to support regrowth. I alternate and rotate the shampoos around because I find that if I don’t, I could get build up over time and / or the products lose their effectiveness a bit if my scalp gets overly used to them. Also, it’s my opinon that hair loss shampoos should be just one weapon in your arsenol on hair loss. In my experience, they alone are generally not enough to get the results that you are looking for.

Dandruff anti inflammatory shampoos: The most popular of these is nizoral and it really does help with the scalp pain, but it will dry your scalp and hair awfully and in the end the dryness will contribute to further itching and irritation. Because of this, I honestly prefer selsun blue as it is a bit more conditioning, but it also is very drying over time. Any dandruff shampoos will strip your hair of color and dry your scalp. I personally can only use them once or twice a week but I feel they are effective so they are part of my regimen.

Nisim: I like nisim because it’s a very light high quality shampoo that makes my scalp feel very good. It gives my fine hair a bit of bounce and volume and doesn’t weight it down. Many hair loss shampoos are very heavy and you must use apple cider vinegar to get all of the residue out. This isn’t the case with Nisim.

Hair Genesis Shampoo: Hair Genesis has a complete line of products, but I particularly like the shampoo. It’s a very high quality product and again, it doesn’t coat or make my very fine hair limp. I look like I have more hair when I use it.

Phytocyane: This is among the most natural, organic shampoos in my regimen. This product contains grape seed extracts, ginkgo biloba and lots of vitamins. I like to give my hair a break from chemicals as much as I can. I find this shampoo gives my hair a lot of shine. This is the most expensive product on my list, but I still feel it is worth the cost.

Cre C Hair Loss Shampoo: This is another natural product which contains a large amount of ginseng. It’s imported from Mexican and is so natural that the shampoo is totally clear and the ingredients sink to the bottom, requiring you to shake it before you use it. I actually like this about the product and its surprisingly inexpensive.

Dead Sea Hair Loss Shampoo: I bought this product because I was intrigued with the novelty of it and because it was very inexpensive, but it’s become one of my favorites. As the title implies, it contains dead sea nutrients and minerals, but the best thing about it is for whatever reason, it cleans well but is also very conditioning. I actually use this product without any conditioner and can comb my hair out fine afterward. It’s also very inexpensive.

Nioxin: My hair actually does not respond well to nioxin. It increases my shedding, but my research has indicated this is not true for most people. The company says the extra shedding is because the product is only clearing out hair that would’ve shed anyway to make way for healthy regrowth, but I can’t bring myself to shed more. I’ve included nioxin because it is a very popular product that many people have had success with. I just was not one of them. It does clean your scalp like no other so I use it maybe once per month just to make sure I have no build up or clogging sebum.

Jason Thin To Thick: I use this very sparingly because it increases shedding by a lot for me, but if I have a wedding or event to attend for which I have to look really good, I will use this because it makes me appear to have twice as much hair. I can’t use it often though because of the hair loss I associate with it.

How do I know all of this? Because I lived it. In my quest to end my hair loss, I tried many different women’s hair loss shampoos and other products. It was a long, hard, frustrating journey which all but wrecked my self esteem. But, I never gave up and I finally found something that helped quite a bit.

“Give me a 64-ounce steak, double-baked potato with extra sour cream and an apple pie for dessert. No, not a slice – give me the whole pie, please.”

If you have ever had the opportunity to go out with a bodybuilder for dinner, you would be familiar with that kind of order delivered to the distressed waitress. These high-carbohydrate, high-protein, and high-fat diet meals were the popular method for packing on muscle and climbing the scale. “I’ll pack on all the weight I can now, then melt off the fat later,” was the common motto.

Many bodybuilders put a lot of focus into the details of their nutritional strategy. A small food scale, calculator, note pad and pencil are common items found in their kitchen. Some competitive bodybuilders go to the extreme of weighing and measuring everything wherever they go and scribbling numbers into their notepad after every meal.

Obviously, not every skinny guy has the same aspirations, desire and determination to live the life of a bodybuilder. Skinny guys will be more successful today if they have a quick and convenient plan to follow that involves minimal measuring and minimal number crunching.

The See Food Diet Is NOT The Answer

The reality is that many skinny guys’ nutritional level does not exceed the See Food Diet, that is, ‘see food’ and eat it. Not a bad option if you can avoid getting a potbelly in the process. If this is you, then consider yourself blessed with a Lamborghini-style metabolism. Go right ahead and eat whatever and whenever you want until you’re ready to audition for Rambo IV.

For the most part, the See Food Diet is typically not the most healthy meal plan since it puts zero restrictions on any food categories and is more a concept to shift a skinny guy’s mind-set than anything else. These days, the majority of readers should know the fallacy of a See Food Diet. Sure, you can eat a super high calorie diet, like the See Food Diet, and add some muscle, but you’ll add even more fat. And from personal experience, and I’m sure many of you can personally testify, putting the fat on is much easier than taking it off! Conveniently, bodybuilders now have an “off-season shape” card to flash year-round to excuse themselves of looking like a pregnant powerlifter.

Muscle-Building Nutrition Principles

Mastering the principles of nutrition should be like mastering the principles of training – simple. Master the basics and execute them consistently. Think about the 80/20 rule. 80% of your results will come from 20% of your knowledge. Taking what you already know and putting it into action consistently is the magic formula. Let’s go over the most important nutrition principles you’ll need to practice to get your body growing.

Principle #1: Eat Often – Every 2.5 to 3 Hours

Don’t expect to pack on quality mass – muscle without body fat – on three square meals a day. This would lead to massive quantities of both protein and carbs at each meal. Your body can only store so many calories per meal, so guess what this results in? Bloating, poor digestion and unwanted body fat.

Your first meal should be consumed within 15-30 minutes of waking up and consumed every 2.5 to 3 hours. Set your stopwatch to beep until you get something in your body. Don’t view these meals as burdensome but as opportunities to fuel and grow your muscles. Look at them as growth surges. Think of the next meal as a fuller chest, broader shoulders, bigger arms and rock-hard abs!

And if you miss a meal, visualize a sea of piranhas eating up your muscle tissue like it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet. And those deadly piranhas are eating up your CURRENT muscle that you are not even satisfied with. They are actually making your muscles

smaller. No, you will not lose an inch on your arms if you miss one meal, but once you start averaging 3-4 instead of 6-8 meals a day, don’t be upset when people look surprised when you tell them you work out with weights regularly!

So how many meals should you be eating? That’s easy – just divide the time you’re awake by 2 or 3. I would suggest mastering eating every 3 hours before you consider every 2 hours. So if you’re awake 18 hours a day, eat 6 meals.

What if one of those meals falls right before bedtime? Then eat up! Take the opportunity to eat. If we went to the extreme we would eat every 3 hours throughout the night as well. No matter what you have heard on this (never eat after 7 P.M. garbage) ignore it. Trust me!

Also, don’t view these feeding opportunities as ‘snacks.’ This is a wimpy word mentality that should not be in your vocabulary if you are trying to build muscle. Do you think Ronnie Coleman says, ‘Hey, I think I’m going to go eat a snack?’ Every 3 hours you should be eating decent size meals that will make your body better.

Principle #2: Eat A Variety Of Foods

It is easy to get into a robotic state of nutrition where we eat the exact same foods every day, ingesting the same breakfast, lunch and dinner and the only time we eat differently is when we go out for dinner or someone else cooks for us. It is easier to choose convenience over variety.

Just like our training that we rotate around to prevent boredom, you should rotate your food selection. Normally, you will eat whatever is in your house, so the best strategy to eating a healthy variety is to shop for different foods each week. This will help balance out your diet and help you measure the response a variety of foods. Don’t go for the boring and easy route.

Principle #3: Eat Enough Calories

Building muscle is an eating game because your muscles grow on calories. Not eating enough calories is like an attempt to buy a $50,000 car with only $25,000 in the bank. It’s not going to happen. If you are not gaining at least 1-2 pounds per week, then add some extra carbohydrates and proteins to your breakfast, pre-workout meal or post-workout meal.

THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THIS STEP. Even if you have the perfect training routine, you will never grow unless you provide your body with the proper amount of nutrients. It’s like saying you want to build a house but you do not have enough bricks, cement and wood. It will be impossible to build that house. It’s like saying you want to race a car as fast as possible but you don’t have any gasoline or oil. It’s downright impossible.

If you wish to ensure that your muscles have enough fuel to support your workouts, lift heavy weights for high reps, recover from workout to workout and, let’s not forget, GROW NEW MUSCLE, then you have to keep track of what you are eating every day. There is no way around it. This is the number one reason why skinny guys never gain weight or why anybody for that matter will not make quality gains that they so desperately strive for.

Keeping track of what you eat is a lot easier than it sounds – it’s probably why most people avoid it, because they perceive it to be difficult.

Sure, you’re going to have to take some extra time to read containers and labels, but if this method will promise another 20 pounds in a few months from now, is it not worth it? And the good news is that your brain will create a new file to store all your new nutrient calculations, and since you are eating from the majority of the same foods, your ‘memory food bank’ will expand quickly.

Principle #4: Eat 40-60 Grams Of Protein Per Meal

Building muscle is not on your body’s ‘to do’ list – simple survival is. Not getting enough protein for your internal organs results in your body robbing it from your muscle tissue. Your body cannibalizes itself for the amino acids it needs! This is the polar opposite of what skinny guys want.

Proteins should make up at least 35% of your overall caloric intake. This translates to 40-60 grams of protein per meal for males less then 200 lbs and will be enough to maintain your appetite, increase your muscle mass, accelerate recovery and keep body fat levels low. Hit this level and you’re doing well.

It is better to get your protein from whole, complete, and lean protein. Remember that protein is a costly food and burns twice as much energy as carbs and three times as much energy as fat. You need protein to maximally turbo-charge your metabolism, improve your muscle mass and accelerate recovery.

Aim for lean meats such as ground beef, chicken, turkey, etc. Aim for fish such as salmon, tuna, orange roughy, etc. Aim for Omega 3 eggs and pasteurized egg whites. Aim for dairy from cottage cheese, yogurt and partly skimmed cheeses. And if you have to resort to supplement shakes, go for whey, casein or milk protein blends.

Principle #5: Eat 60-80 Grams Of Carbohydrate per Meal

Not getting enough carbohydrates will make you feel like you’re carrying a bear on your back throughout your workouts. Your body’s gas tank is comprised of carbohydrates. No carbs and don’t expect to get that car too far.

A lack of carbs in your diet can slow the muscle-building process because your muscle tissue can be used as energy if your body’s preferred source of energy, carbs, are not available.

It is best to get your carbohydrates from a variety of high-fiber, complex and low-glycemic carbohydrates as opposed to simple carbs (sugars) found in fast food, fried food, processed food and junk food. Complex carbs release a slower and longer lasting energy that is critical for your intense training workouts. Complex carbs will rarely get converted to fat unless you are clearly eating too many of them. If you are gaining more fat around your midsection as opposed to muscle, then you know you should cut back on your complex carbs or add a few cardio workouts.

Aim for high-complex, muscle-building carbs such as bran, barley, buckwheat, beans, brown rice, cornmeal, oatmeal, pasta, potatoes and whole grains.

Principle #6: Eat 20-30 Grams Of Fat Per Meal

About 30% of your diet should consist of fat – this number should remain pretty consistent for everyone. And as a skinny guy or anybody who wants to maximize muscle growth, then eating 30% of your intake from fat is critical for boosting testosterone levels. However, the key is to balance out your intake between saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat. If you achieve 1/3 in each of these, then you will optimize your health and muscle gains. This is not as complicated as it looks.

Since North Americans are harshly deficient in mono (olive oil) and poly fats (from fish oils) and get enough of saturated fats as it is, your job is to simply include more olive oil and fish oil into your diet. This is something that can be recommended for every man and women and has no potential side effects. Again, don’t worry; the meal plans included have got you covered.

The only fats you MUST avoid at all costs – for so many reasons – are trans fats.

Trans fatty acids, also known as trans fat, is an artery-clogging fat that is formed when vegetable oils are hardened into margarine or shortening. It is found in many other foods besides margarine and shortening, including fried foods like French fries and fried chicken, doughnuts, cookies, pastries and crackers. In the United States, typical French fries have about 40 percent trans fatty acids and many popular cookies and crackers range from 30 percent to 50 percent trans fatty acids. Doughnuts have about 35 percent to 40 percent trans fatty acids.

To determine the amount of trans fat in a food you must know what to look for on the food labels. Whenever you see shortening, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil higher up on the list of the ingredients, the more trans fat.

Principle #7: Eat Vegetables With Every Meal

How are vegetables supposed to promote muscle gain? Your mom was right when she told you to eat up all your vegetables if you wanted to grow big and strong. Finally, the ‘muscle-nerds’ are catching up. Not only are vegetables loaded with vitamins and minerals but they also contain important plant chemicals called phytochemicals that are essential for optimal physiological functioning.

The most neglected benefit of eating vegetables is their role in recovery. Sure, you need calories to grow, but you also need these veggies for their high antioxidant profile that will help reduce the amount of free radicals from heavy training, and they will accelerate recovery by healing damaged muscle cells.

Most people are unaware that proteins and grains create high levels of acid loads to the blood, and if this is not balanced out with alkaline rich vegetables and fruits, then too much acid can result in a loss of bone strength and muscle mass. So it is important to keep these acid levels balanced by ingesting vegetables (and fruits) for their alkalinity to the blood.

The best way to get your vegetables is to cut them all up at the start of the week. This will make life easier and make them more accessible. Aim for at least 2 servings, which is the equivalent of 1-2 cups per meal. Yes, every 2-3 hours you must be eating veggies.

Principle #8: Eat Your Biggest Meal At Breakfast, Pre-Workout and Post-Workout

No matter what anyone says, I believe this is the safest and most effective way to

maximize your muscle:fat gain ratio when bulking. In this article we will not discuss the topic of nutrient timing.

Shortly we will discuss the benefits of packing the bulk of your calories around the most catabolic and anabolic times of the day so you will have sufficient energy to train hard and heavy without any risk of muscle breakdown, not to mention enough calories to support muscle growth. How much food you eat at a particular time of the day should be based on the NEEDS OF YOUR BODY AT THAT CURRENT MOMENT.

Principle #9: Plan Ahead

This principle could easily be number one because oftentimes it is not a shortage of information that creates a roadblock but our lack of CONSISTENCY and CREATIVITY. I bet if you did not change anything about what you are currently eating but ensured food was there when it was time to eat, you would experience a growth surge.

I strongly agree with the famous clich? that states, ‘Failing to plan is planning to fail.’ It is so true. You must have a plan that will ensure you have the food prepared and cooked in the right selection and amounts every time you eat. This might require you to spend a few hours on Sunday evening cooking and storing all your food in Tupperware containers. This might mean waking up half an hour early so that you can cook all your meals for the day. This might require you to carry a lunch bag wherever you go. This might mean packing a few shaker bottles if you know you will be on the road most of the day. Bottom line – be prepared.

Principle #10: Eat Whole Foods 60% Of The Time and Liquid Meals 40% Of The Time

I often have my clients use as few supplements as possible for the first few months of training. You will be amazed at the results achieved by simply putting all your efforts into following your meal plan, proper training and sleep. It’s a very eye-opening experience when they see almost immediate changes in body composition, health and energy levels.

Your food intake should come from high quality food at least 60 % of the time, which means at least 4 of the 6 meals you are eating.

This will ensure more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber that supplements and pills lack. Whole food is loaded with digestive enzymes as well that help the absorption of food instead of eating too much ‘ground up’ food in the form of powder. Power shakes will make your life much easier and will remove some of the inconveniences of having to cook and prepare food all day. Aim to use these at least 2 out of your 4 real meals a day and never more than three power shakes unless your life is extremely hectic and unmanageable.

Conclusion

Dedicate the next 12 weeks to putting these muscle building nutrition principles into action. Building muscle is really quite simple and exciting because you get to indulge in large quantities of food, try new recipes and become a master chef since you’ll be spending more time in the kitchen. Taking these principles and applying them consistently over time and making them a part of your lifestyle is the secret.

I am sure I am not the only one out there that has a spa gift baskets sets to buy for a very special women. I can’t say how many times I have been in the situation where I have to buy a spa gift baskets sets. If it has been for my Mother in Law, a co-worker or teenager, the best idea that I have come up with is a gift basket full of stuff that any women would love…bath stuff.

However, the search from a great bath product to put in your spa gift baskets sets can be a little overwhelming. Numerous times I have gone to many different stores to try out their products and have been disappointed. Either the smell is not exactly what I am looking for or I can never find the right product. It just seems as though sometimes bath products are made a bit on the cheap side and there are thousands of different kinds, it seems so hard to find the right one. I always found it so frustrating going into a store that had hundreds of soaps, bath bubbles, bath salts and I would feel lost on where to start.

Not only that, but I find that it dries out my skin more than it makes it feel silky and smooth. Isn’t bath products supposed to make you feel better…not worse? I ask myself “is there no Spa Gift Baskets Sets that are perfect”. But, then one day I came across the best products out there that are made especially for spa gift baskets sets! Not only were they totally neat looking but the smell was to die for.

The first step is in selecting the best Spa Gift Baskets Sets is choosing the right fragrance. This is something that can either make or break their bath. If the smell is not perfect, they will just not enjoy their spa gift baskets sets. I have tried hundreds of different scents but have found that the following are the best out there. I honestly can’t live without them!

Black Raspberry Vanilla – A spa gift baskets sets that is Jazzy and Sultry with a hint of vanilla.

Fresh Grapefruit – The tart, citrus scent of freshly squeezed Grapefruit is a perfect fit for your spa gift baskets sets . It will awaken your senses.

Tangerine – A spa gift baskets sets scent that is very yummy yummy…but not in your tummy.

Papaya Mango – A very lovely fragrance for your spa gift baskets sets . You will fall in love with this fruity blend of ripened mango and juicy papaya.

“And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes….Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.” – Ezekiel 47:9, 12

It is very interesting but have you ever stand next to a river and take a look at the surrounding environment around the river bank? I never really did until one day when I drove across a bridge over a deep river on my way to my mother-in-law’s house. The children were swimming freely in the river. Further down, I saw some women washing their clothes in the river. Some men were enjoying an afternoon of fishing activity, undisturbed by the noises coming from the playful children. I noticed lots of trees, bushes, flowers and plantations along the river bank. These were green, healthy plants blooming with life. Along the river bank, there is life.

It was then, I heard this distinct voice said, “where the river flows, it brings life.” Yes, indeed, I began to understand what it means when I looked at the people and activities along the river bank. We have a river within us, too. Whether this river is alive and flowing or mashes of swamps in our lives. Ezekiel 47:1-12 describes this river within us that flows from the sanctuary of God. God was showing Ezekiel the meaning and the purpose of the river.

The Source of the River

Ezekiel 47:1 tells us that the source of the river comes from the sanctuary of God. In the Old Testament, the sanctuary is a physical temple of God. But God moves Himself from a physical temple into our heart. The Bible says that our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. He is here to stay in us when we accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour. The Holy Spirit is a seal of our identity as the child of God, redeemed by the blood of Christ. Now, in us, flows this river and the source of the river is the Holy Spirit. But this river must flow out of us and whether it is gushing out of us, will depend on our spiritual walk with our Father. In order for the river to gush out of us, we must make room for the Holy Spirit to fill us and lead us in our walk everyday. We can stop the Holy Spirit or we can allow the Holy Spirit to take control of us.

The Course of the River

Ezekiel was shown the river. He was also led by the angel out from the temple into the river. First, the water was up to his ankles. Then as he walked deeper into the river, the water came up to his knees. He walked further into the river, the water came up to his waist and eventually it was too deep for him to walk in the river. He has to swim. As the river flows, it does not get widen and widen. Instead, as it flows, it cuts deeper and deeper into the land. As we choose to walk with God, you will find that your life becomes stronger and deeply rooted in God and His words. It also means that you begin to trust God more and more because in the deep river, you cannot walk and touch the ground, you can only swim. When there are no more steps to stand on, we need to let go of ourselves and learn to rely on God to guide you across the river. Depth and substance are what God wants to build in us, not width and more material wealth. These are just the by-products of seeking God first. If we are not anchored in God, we will find ourselves struggling to keep alive by swimming but eventually our strength will wear out and we will drown from fatigue.

The Mashes and Swamps that Stop the River Flows

As the river flows, there will be obstacles and hindrances that prevent the river from flowing on. When the river stops to flow, it forms into lake, swamps and mashes. These dead sea is no good to anyone as the water is too salty for any use. It cannot be used for drinking. It cannot be used for providing nutrients to the growth of plants and food. It is basically useless. In our lives, we must beware of swamps and mashes that hinder our personal relationship with God. These swamps and mashes prevent the power of the Holy Spirit flowing through us to others. When these swamps and mashes are built up over time, nothing living can grow in it. When we walk away from God and refuse the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we are like the swamps and mashes. No life will flow from us and everything we touch does not bring life and draw others to God.

There is power in the flow of the river. The force of the river brings life. The amount of flow will depend on how much we are willing to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.

There must also be life in us. If the force of a flowing river is powerful, all kinds of plants will grow alongside it and bear fruits. These fruits become food for us. The leaves become medicine for healing. When we walk with God, our lives will become fruitful as we do good works. Through our good works, it becomes food for our spiritual growth and for others to be helped and encouraged. We become “medicine” for others who needed a helping hand, a listening ear, and a shoulder to cry on. As we help the poor and needy, we bring healing to their souls through our kindness, love, compassion. They will see God and the goodness of God through you. But if you are a dead sea, there is no output from dead sea except lots of salt. And we know the more salt you take, the thirstier you become, and you will die from lack of water.

God has positioned us where we can become the channel for the river of life to flow through and out of us to bring life to others around us. Ask yourself whether your life is full of swamps, mashes or a dead sea. Or, is your life a flowing river or a still river? If you have not allowed the Holy Spirit to take control of your life today, will you go before God and ask Him to fill you with His Spirit to make you a living river? It is never too late to do so.

Pneumonia can be an extremely serious condition. In the very old, the very young, or people with compromised immune systems, it can be deadly. In an otherwise healthy person pneumonia is less serious, but it still requires that you take special care of yourself to avoid the possible complications that can arise from lack of treatment.

After a diet of raw juices, when the fever subsides, the patient should spend three or four further days on an exclusive fresh fruit diet, taking three meals a day of juicy fruits such as apple, grapes, pineapple, mango, orange, lemon and papaya. Thereafter, he may gradually adopt a well-balanced diet of natural food consisting of seeds, nuts and grains, vegetables and fruits, with emphasis on fresh fruits and raw vegetables.

Turmeric – Take a thick cloth and make four folds of it. Between the third and fourth fold, spread a layer of turmeric. Now mix this turmeric in lukewarm water and sprinkle over the cloth to make it partially wet. Now put this cloth on the chest of the patient, heat a brick and put it over the chest of the patient to stimulate his chest, when the heat from the brick reaches the chest, it would nullify the pneumonia effect. Also take 1 gm of black pepper, five cloves and 1 gm of edible soda. Boil it in 15 ml of water.

Sesame seeds are of great value in the treatment of Pneumonia. In 250 ml water, put 15 gm of sesame seeds. Add 1 tbsp of linseed, a pinch of common salt and a dessertspoon of honey in it. Consume this mixture everyday. It will aid in removing phlegm from the bronchial tubes.

A good healthy all round diet is required to maintain an overall feeling of wellness. It is also advisable to cease tobacco smoking or reduce your contact with it to keep the lungs clean and more able to fight off infection. Also try to avoid as best you can very humid or dusty atmospheres. As particles gathered from such conditions get into the organs very easily and clog up the passageways.

Pneumonia treatment using Parsnip Juice (Mooli)

The juice of parsnip, a root vegetable botanically known as Pastinaca sativa, has been found beneficial in the treatment of pneumonia. The juice of the leaves and root of this plant possess high therapeutic value. The phosphorus and chlorine elements contained therein are of particular benefit to the lungs and the bronchial system, thus making the juice an excellent home remedy for pneumonia. The patient should take 250 ml of juice daily. It is however, essential that only the juice of the cultivated parsnip plant should be used for this purpose.

Brown Rice Cream

Used in cases when a person in a weakened condition needs to be nourished and energized or when the digestive system is impaired. Dry-roast brown rice evenly until all the grains turn a yellowish color. To one part rice, add a small amount of sea salt and 3–6 parts water, then pressure cook for at least 2 hours. Squeeze out the creamy part of the cooked rice gruel through a sanitized cheesecloth. Eat with a small volume of condiment, such as umeboshi plum, gomasio (sesame salt), tekka, kelp, or other seaweed powder.

Prelude: Introduction

A woman sits in her bedroom with her boyfriend. He asks her to have sex with him. She says, “No!” He tells her, “I love you, and I will never leave you for as long as I live.” She has a passionate night of sex with the man. The next morning she starts to experience burning when she urinates. The doctor finds that she gonorrhea and herpes a few days later. Further down the line, she misses her period. When she calls the boy to talk he is not home. She goes to his house, and the door is open. She then walks up the stairs only to catch the boy in bed with another woman. She then gets an abortion and starts to have sex with any body she can while she drinks herself to another world. Years later, she becomes a drug addict and becomes even more gone.

In our world today, so many people gain relationships, and they are fooled into believing that another person loves them more than that individual does. Then, when these people are done unfriendly by the person they thought loved them, they think that everyone is like that person and start to treat others the same. Sometimes, they feel so down on their self for compromising their morals that they tend to tumble deeper into trouble. Eventually, they glean so deep that they feel trapped and unreachable. The cause of these things is the consequence of a spurious love.

In fraudulent esteem, it is a relationship where priorities aren’t kept. In these relationships, said couple sacrifices morals. Person A looks at a wolf as if that wolf were a sheep. For this wolf, the person sacrifices morals, friendships, and many other things. However, the relationship turns abusive sexually, spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The sexual abuse comes in because they think that this is the person for them. The person puts their self in a compromising position. The person thinks that they need sex as a right of passage because they don’t know better. Or the person thinks that they are loved by the other person. The predicament is that sex is kind of like glue. Often you tend to bond with the person when you have a sexual relationship with them. Another thing that happens is that people have sex with so many people that they become calloused. This happens when person moves from partner to partner. If you bond two pieces of rubber with glue and break the bond to re-bond it to another fraction of rubber with glue, then it will not bond as well as it did before. The more and more you re-bond the rubber the less it will bond, and this is what sexual abuse is.

Spiritual abuse starts when a person starts to value a person above God. The person starts to admire the individual while putting them on a platform above his or her self. Sometimes person B tells person A to pull away from those things that are holy and qualified. When person B gets person A to sacrifice moral beliefs, then person A is allowing his/her self to be spiritually abused.

Physical abuse often starts with one of four reasons. Reason one is that the couple is going through hard times and the partner does not stand up against prior incidents which create a snowball effect. Reason two is because person A gets in a relationship that they know is bad; however, person A thinks that he/she can change person B. This is trouble waiting to happen. Reason three is that person A gets involved with person B while person B is kinder and gentler; then once person B gets comfortable he/she starts to change and let his/her precise attitude happens. Finally, there is the forced relationship. Some people try to force people to be with them. Sometimes, the forced person becomes abusive seeing this as the only temporary escape and release for his/her entrapment as a form of rebellion.

Mental abuse starts when a person A is constantly put down by person B. The only inequity between mental and emotional abuse is that mental abuse is an assault against a personal intelligence whereas emotional abuse plays against one’s emotions. Mental abuse makes one feel stupid daily. Emotional abuse can make a person feel sadness and sometimes dread. Both are dangerous alone, but often they are fused together and indifferent.

A relationship built off of any of these principals is asking for death before the relationship even begins. Would you try to grow a flower in a pot of salt? Obviously no flower should be placed in a pot of salt, for if this flower were to be placed in a pot of salt, then it would not be able to grow due to lack of reception of nutrients. Relationships need to be in an environment where they can be nurtured and people can grow in treasure, and they need not be in pots of salt or fire that will drain or burn the relationship. As well, trust is the number one needed item in a relationship. None of the conditions above can gain a true trust. This is why those things above are characteristics of a false cherish.

Chapter Two: Avoiding False Love

Despite those things that define false love, there are many ways to find good love. It is easy to fall into a untrue care for, but there are many ways to grow into a true love that will grow ever so strong. So here are seven ways to avoid falling into a false love.

First of all, one must prioritize their relationships. In Solidity of Purpose I had this to say, “Before making relationships strong, one must prioritize. Build your relationships in this order: God, wife, family, friendships, authorities, supervisors, associates, and enemies. You must prioritize because often you will have to settle between one or the other and you must choose the right one or you will be pummeled.” Laying ground rules and putting God first starts the relationship out on a firm foundation, and it gives your mate something to live up to as well as yourself. Pleasant ethics make sure that relationship is well grounded. This means that you should first start the person out on an associate level. As time goes on you can progress them to friendship, family, and then finally potential spouse. Eventually, when the relationship is built up enough you can press on to husband and wife.

Second is to keep God first. Putting God first is always paramount; however, you can put God first and forget to keep him them. Following God is like an endurance hasten. It doesn’t matter where you finish, for all that matters is that you attain. I remember running on the track I would fall down, so you know what I did. I got back up and continued to run. One time I fell and there was more permanent damage. I then started to walk after I got back on track, and I still run with a goal of completion. I understand that in relationships we stumble objective as we do on the track. Believe me, I have stumbled a number of times in relationships. You know what I did. I repented, and I came help from my sin with God leading me to the right paths. I peaceful struggle with sin, but we will not be free until we reach the finish line. Therefore, we must admit our mistakes, and press on. God will forgive. We just need to keep perspective.

Third, we must build up our relationship. Take time to talk to your potential mate. Let us not fool ourselves. True dating is about finding a person to resolve down with and get married to. If we do not practice building trusts from the foundation, then the relationship is doomed. We must know whom we are with.

Fourth, avoid sex. Sex before marriage is totally evil. Granted even if you make the mistake of doing it then stray away from it. If you abstain, I can guarantee that your premarital relationship will be more fruitful, and you will learn more about your potential mate. Not only that, but if you fornicate then it acts like a glue. You will slay up becoming attached to that person, and an unnatural bond will have been created.

The fifth principle is to build up trust. If you do not have trust, then as said before the relationship is nothing but trash. There will always be a shaky foundation, and you will continue to have more arguments than need be. Trust is the most essential part of the relationship.

The sixth thing to do is to test the waters. Get your potential mate tested for STDs to avoid entering a relationship with more of a dirty slate if there was premarital sex on any person’s part. Talk to each other about controversial issues. Watch how the person acts around his/her friends. Score some distance for an extended amount of time. Test the others patience (not temperament) as in see how long a person is willing to wait for something. Don’t hide anything from anyone, for it is beneficial to be forthright.

The seventh thing to do is to converse more. Talk about hard hitting issues such as politics, spirituality (deeper than earlier conversations), and children, for then you will be on the same page. Talk about the marriage and any future issues that may arrive up. Talk about where you will live and any financial plans. Get everything out on the launch. It can’t hurt if you talk about any more things before marriage, for after marriage that person will become like a second mind and these along with other shrimp topics will come up in marriage. It is better to hash out something before marriage than it is to wait until after because you will eventually have to discuss it. I think it is better to meet issues head on than it is to wait until the topic comes up. Be prepared…

These seven things can easily funnel out the wrong people. For one, the absence of sex will push them away. Keeping God first will push away those that hate God. Finally, the other things will put the person you are looking for closer to you, and those that don’t believe in what you do will either try to change, or they will go far from you. However, this is not fool proof, for it is impossible for everyone to do a perfect bustle, and many of us will fall. Of course, our mistakes are the perfect things to humble us and tell us why we need God first in all of our relationships. Combat unfounded love with these steps.

Chapter Three: Forgiving

Sometimes, avoiding false appreciate means revisiting the past and leaving the past behind us. I have had many girlfriends that have slept around on me. I have struggle with finding the right person, and sometimes, I feel hopeless to find the person that as meant for me. However, I must not look at the past, for not every woman is going to cheat on me. Not every woman is going to be dishonest. No two people are the same.

Forgiving is the tougher part of love. I have learned that in order to take a chance on the next potential person, I needed to forgive the last potential person. A few times, a person had slept around on me, and I had to forgive to expect other women not to do the same; of course, I am prepared for it.

Sometimes, I think of my mistake that I did. None of them was cheating on my girlfriend, for I am a loyalist when it comes to going out with women. Of course, I have had my relationship mistakes. For example, I don’t always show up on time to dates, but it is usually one minute late or because my military job had held me up, so it is forgivable. However, tardiness is not acceptable, not at all.

Aside from those things above, I have had to sacrifice relationships for my job. I struggle with the most pain because of that. Then, I have failed a number of times to follow God’s rules that were set in to place for my well being. I harbor the most dislike against myself for failing to keep one major goal of mine.

Unfortunately, not being able to forgive myself is worse than not forgiving someone else, for you become depressed because of your mistakes. You don’t have a problem admitting your mistakes; you may have a problem with beating up yourself. Even if someone else does wrong, you may associate the plight as something that is your fault. Forgiving yourself is sometimes harder than anything else, but God gets can derive you through it. Believe me; I deal with this struggle a lot.

Chapter Four: Forgetting

So forgiving others and self is important, but it is fruitless without leaving the past behind. In “Solidity of Purpose II” it states this about forgetting and forgiveness, “Those things we have done should remain in the past. They should only be remembered as things to be grateful for that they did not waste us. In summation we must come to terms with who we really are. We are foul individuals, and everyone makes mistakes. We are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Therefore, thinking that we are worse than anyone else is nothing but pure foolishness. No one is generous on his hold accord at least not in accordance with perfection. If any man tells you that they are, then they are blowing smoke through your tail.

In recollection, you are not the worse person in the world. In life there are three levels. Good, Center, and Irascible. Good is the ultimate ethical basis. No one can achieve this level ever. Only a man who has no heinous in his life and born of a virgin birth away from original sin can achieve this level. Therefore, every man is equally wicked except one man who even history says lived a pleasurable life.

Finally, once the clear one comes to uplift us. We must recognize his greatness and say, ‘I realize that I was wicked, but you have made me recent and given me value. My past is in the past, and until I change I will always be in your grace because I could not attain this level on my believe. You give me value because now I am still a negative or zero value, but you give me freedom from the others and make me different.’ This is the answer to our purpose. Fret and worry not upon the past, but look to the future. For in our lives we have been given talents and abilities from the positive one in our life. Therefore, we must invest expedient to derive good. As for good forgiveness and freedom, it must come from a person who was perfect and suffered upon this world because of our mistakes and imperfections. Our own forgivingness is merely to get us through life, and it is not generous for things to come; it is also temporal. Life was never meant to be easy, and no man deserves his life more than another so let the past be the past, I promise you God won’t hold it against you if you repent of it.

‘Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire unimaginative, including all those living in the cities-and also the vegetations in the land. But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.’

-Genesis Chapter 19:25-26

What must we do after the death of our extinct lives of strife? I don’t have worthy to say because the answer is obvious. We must not look back at our troubles. We must look forward towards the end where our final goal is, and a new future awaits us. To look support is certainly death. Do they put blinders on a race horse to look back at dirt already trampled? Does a sprinter look back to see his opponent behind him without losing ground?

We must look at our life, and realize that we are a very different person from what we were before; the difference between who we were then, and who we are now is like night and day, and it is just as they say, “We once were lost, but now we are saved.”

‘I remember before I was saved, I used to struggle with hate of the world and everything in it, but now I love life and everything in the world, with the exception of sin. Once upon a time, I used to hate God, and I wished for death. However, I have come to realize that God is to be loved for He is my very reason to want to be. Slowly but surely, all of the sins I struggle with dwindle away from me as far as the east and west. I say this because a time ago I used to indulge in a lot of sins, the worst being idolatry, and now I have put aside this sin, finding it repulsive for someone like me who knows better than to worship a dead object. Later, I struggled with lust more and more, but now the battles are won, and I am a much better guiltless person. I call these two the worst sins because they are like pin pricks, and slowly they eat away at your heart taking away from your life, quelling those things you consider sacred, while they defile your mind and turn your heart against God. Then of course, I would have never known these things if it weren’t for Christ making right what was wrong in my life, for I would have plan that these things were a share of normal healthy behavior. Because of my change, I have come to realize the inequity between right and wrong, and now I understand how truly deprived humanity is, for our morals often change from society to society; we often do what we feel is good. But now that I understand my sinful nature, I live not by the changing morality of society, which changes like the waves in the sea, demonstrating the stability of a “wishy washy” building with no foundation, constantly shifting like time itself and the sands in the desert, for I live by a higher code, and it is called “ethics”. To this very day, the ethics of God have carried me better than the morality of society, and since this change I have been a far better person than I once was, only struggling with guilt on occasion from the past sins, the sins I had done as I lived under society’s morality. Because my life is structured around the ethics of God, I am a very different person from what I was. Now as I finish, I reiterate that which others have said that applies to my life incredibly, “I once was lost, but now I’m saved;” as of now, the life of my past is as different from my current life as the difference is between night and day. I realize the difference, between who I am now and who I was in the past, every time I look in the mirror.’ As stated from “Solidity of Purpose.”

In our life, our past may come up again, or we may make another mistake. But when the past regurgitates itself, we must realize that we are loved. We must understand that these things are merely obstacles trying to make us become what we have traveled so far not to be. They are negatives trying to take away our newer value and purpose. Do not look relieve, otherwise you may bag the death you saw in your past, and you will not be free from the circle. You will merely repeat it as the man from the beginning was learning.” I don’t like reiteration of a point, but this point is well-known. As well, we must forgive and forget about other mistakes as we would our enjoy.

Chapter Five: Experience

I know where you are coming from. When I was saved, a lot of people taunted me. I was ridiculed for not wanting to have sex before marriage. As I grew older, every relationship I had fell apart. Eventually, I broke up with somebody. In depression, I volunteered to go to Korea. While stationed in Korea, I ended up dating a lot of people looking for a new girlfriend both on and off-base. During this time, I struggled on and off with lust, and those women trying to tempt me had made the struggle tougher, but I had a wall of pride that stopped me as well as my dismay of God.

After time, I gave up on looking for a woman. Everyone I went out with wanted me to get drunk, have sex, or make some type of moral decent. I chose not to and in that decided to be alone. Alone I was until one day I was accused of stealing something from an individual I worked with. We got into a fight. God protected me and won the fight for me.

However, Satan came to tempt me afterwards. A “friend” had asked me to go out into town and hang out with him. The wall of pride had then arisen, and I thought that I would not be able to get drunk hanging with him. As we went from club to club, he kept switching my drinks befriend and forth. I was not paying attention, for my pride said that I was keeping watch and I trusted this person.

The problem is that this was the first nip into the lifestyle of premarital sex that I was trying to avoid. I did not run like I should have and I fell hard. At that point, people were watching to gawk whether I would get wait on up. However, I did get succor up and it took me years to get serve on track, but God got me back on track. I tranquil struggle with sin, but God is there for me, and the struggle is easier. Even now, people are constantly trying to get me to repeat all of my mistakes that I made support in Korea and Japan. I speak from experience; the world has nothing to offer you better than a relationship with God and being married to a God fearing person. Let any man who says different prove it. The world only offers a broken heart and negative consequences such as STDs and so grand more.

Chapter Six: My Practice of Principles

In practicing the principles, your life will get difficult. Finding someone may seem almost impossible. However, wouldn’t it be better to have that sensitive, understanding mate who will listen to you? Don’t fall into the world trap. Even the world will respect someone who upheld their principles in the end even if you do fall. As long as you get back up and keep on track, then everything will be sparkling.

I am not asking you to trust my words. I am asking you to trust the Bible’s words and peruse purity and holiness so that you life may be burly. Look at the models or pedestals that Hollywood gives us as examples. Do you want to really live like them? I know I don’t.

For example, take one actress. She said she did not want to have sex before marriage. Then, when it was exposed that she did, she acted real upset and all of her songs she turned to her wearing scantly clad outfits and she sings about sexual things with others. If she would have fair came out and got back on her pledge of purity then she would have gotten abet on track and that would have been in her past. She didn’t, she immersed her life in more sin publicly and picked up an idol that was on of Americas top notorious female sex symbols plunging deeper into her own substandard nature. My question is, “How happy is this singer now going all the way into a sinful lifestyle? ”

Let me be the first to tell you. I am not perfect and I do not have any delusions of grandeur. I have struggled with sin first hand. My biggest battle was with lust. On April 7, 2002 at 2200 (10 PM Korea time), I lost my virginity. In my sadness, I backslid horribly. During my backsliding, I had immersed my self in alcohol and premarital sex. I kept falling into it because I felt guilty, and it has taken me three years to get over that pain. I smooth struggle with things on and off. However, I have turned away from my lifestyle. I have found accountability friends, I pray constantly, I study the Bible frequently, I meditate on the good things that God brings constantly, and I seek out purity. Yes, I fell, and I am not perfect. Tell who you want unbiased please don’t make the same mistakes I have made. My biggest struggle is not looking back to my spoiled life.

As you can see, if I followed these principles one hundred percent then I would not have fallen. However, I didn’t. I am now in pain from my mistakes, but there is a light. That light that I look forward to is Jesus Christ. We all get mistakes, but to trust in God is my desire. Therefore, we must trust in God. We must look towards purity and press on even though we have sinned. No one is perfect, and God realizes this. For this reason, He has given us His grace, and His grace is sufficient. Don’t be entangled by your sin run to His arms.

Chapter Seven: Conclusion

False love is abusive. If you tumble into, then you will be destroyed. Spurious love comes into play when you dislodge your priorities and mix them all up. Signs of a false love are sexual abuse, spiritual abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, and emotional abuse. A relationship built off of any of these principals is asking for death before the relationship even begins. False love also lacks trust.

With these things all said, one must avoid a false love. There are many ways to find true esteem. It is easy to tumble into a false love, but there are many ways to grow into a true love that will grow ever so strong. Just remember GAB. This means God, Avoid, and Build. You know to remember God in all of your relationship matters. Avoid those things that are bad like premarital sex even if you have already made the mistake. Finally, build up the trust; build up the relationship and converse constantly. With these things followed things should go a little bit smoother. Also remember to know the difference between good compromise and ethical compromise. Ethical compromise brings trouble.

Always remember to forgive yourself. Remember to forgive others. Also remember that God has forgiven you. Keep the past in the past. Please learn from my experience. I would not want anyone to fall into the same trap that I have fallen into. A forgiving heart that carries wisdom can go far in remaining pure.

In practicing the principles, your life will come by difficult. Finding someone may seem almost impossible. However, it will be well worth the effort. Don’t fall into the world trap. Let me be the first to tell you. None are righteous not even one. The only righteous person is Jesus Christ; anyone else is just living off of His sacrifice or unrepentant. This is why Christians have chunky lives. We live off of God’s grace.

Epilogue

That woman mentioned earlier realizes that she has a problem. She does not turn away from her sinful lifestyle. She blinds herself by saying that she is an adult and can do what she wants. She justifies her evil by saying that she is a victim. She never gets back on track and she eventually becomes weak from AIDS, Herpes, Syphilis, and Gonorrhea. Her second child becomes addicted to crack and joins a street gang to design ends meet for himself and his mom. As well, he also has brain damage from the drugs his mom was doing. Later, the woman dies from a cold virus that got out of hand because of her AIDS virus that had already weakened her. The son sees this and turns away from his life style. Eventually, he grows up to be a powerful pastor of a church and is now drug free for 12 years. This is a story that happens often. If only everyone had seen the error of their ways and changed. Then the son would have his mom at least in heaven with him.

There are many psoriasis, eczema and rheumatism “remedies” out there on the market but, at best, they bring limited and temporary relief and, at worse, can cause harm because of the chemicals used in their production.

In modern society, we are all too aware of the preference for natural solutions to medical problems. Such a solution exists for psoriasis, eczema and rheumatism and it’s called the Dead Sea.

OK – I can hear you now: “But that’s miles away”, “It’ll cost a fortune, and what happens after?” and “What about the family?” Read on – it’ll be worth your while!

The Dead Sea – truly excellent value for money

Scientific research has shown what people knew 5000 years ago, that the water and mud of the Dead Sea, combined with its dry air have a remarkable therapeutic effect, especially on sufferers from psoriasis, eczema or rheumatism.

Mineral rich water and mud that clean and revitalize the skin, clean dry air that lets your skin breath and recuperate, sunlight with very low levels of UV radiation that also replenish your skins growth and health. All in all, a perfect package for patients with psoriasis, eczema and rheumatism.

I know what you’re saying “Get to the point!” OK, here it is

A course of treatment at the Dead Sea will clear up all the damage caused to your skin by psoriasis or eczema and bring relief from rheumatoid pain for up to one year with no need for booster treatments. What’s more, when signs of the complaint begin to reappear, its development is slower and less aggressive.

And there is one more benefit – taking a vacation with the entire family in one of the most amazing spots on earth.

So, what do you say now?

With symbol K (from Latin kalium, “alkali”) and atomic number 19, Potassium is a chemically reactive and extremely soft metallic elements placed in group 1 of the periodic table. The element’s name comes from the English word potash, a potassium compound originally obtained by soaking wood ash in a pot of water and allowing the water to evaporate. Most potassium occurs in the Earth’s crust as minerals, such as feldspars and clays. Potassium is leached from these by weathering, which explains why there is quite a lot of this element in the sea (0.75 g/liter). Minerals mined for their potassium are pinkish and sylvite, carnallite and alunite. The main mining area used to be Germany, which had a monopoly of potassium before the First World War. Today most potassium minerals come from Canada, USA and Chile. The world production of potassium ores is about 50 million tonnes, and reserves are vast.

The metal is silvery white and can be cut with a knife but oxidizes rapidly in air and tarnishes within minutes, so it is generally stored under oil or grease. It is light enough to float onto water with which it reacts instantly to release hydrogen that burns with a lilac flame. Potassium exists in three natural isotopic forms, with mass numbers 39, 40, and 41. Potassium-40 is radioactive and has a half-life of 1.26 billion years. The most abundant isotope is potassium-39. Several radioactive isotopes have been artificially prepared. Potassium melts at about 63°C (about 145°F), boils at about 760°C (about 1400°F), and has a specific gravity of 0.86; the atomic weight of potassium is 39.098.The chemistry of potassium is almost entirely that of its ion, K+.

Potassium metal is prepared by the electrolysis of fused potassium hydroxide or of a mixture of potassium chloride and potassium fluoride. The metal oxidizes as soon as it is exposed to air and reacts violently with water, yielding potassium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. Potassium is found in nature in large quantities, ranking eighth in order of abundance of the elements in Earth’s crust, in various minerals. Potassium is a constituent of all plant and animal tissue as well as a vital constituent of fertile soil.

Potassium forms many compounds resembling corresponding sodium compounds, based on a valence of 1. A few of the element’s most important compounds are: Potassium bromide (KBr), a white solid formed by the reaction of potassium hydroxide and bromine; Potassium chromate (K2CrO4), a yellow crystalline solid, and potassium bichromate, or potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7), a red crystalline solid, are powerful oxidizing agents used for many industrial purposes; Potassium iodide (KI), a white crystalline compound that is very soluble in water, is used in photography for preparing gelatin emulsions and in medicine for the treatment of rheumatism and over activity of the thyroid gland; Potassium nitrate (KNO3), a white solid prepared by fractional crystallization of sodium nitrate and potassium chloride solutions, is used in matches, destructive materials, and fireworks, and in pickling meat(It occurs naturally as saltpeter); Potassium permanganate (KMnO4), a purple crystalline solid, is used as a disinfectant and germicide and as an oxidizing agent in many important chemical reactions; Potassium sulfate (K2SO4), a white crystalline solid, is an important potassium fertilizer and is also used in the preparation of potassium alum; and Potassium hydrogen tartrate (KHC4H4O6), commonly known as cream of tartar is a white solid used in baking powder and in medicine.

Most potassium goes into fertilizers (about 95 %) and the rest goes mainly into making potassium hydroxide (KOH), by the electrolysis of potassium chloride solution, and then converting this to potassium carbonate (K2CO3) which goes into glass manufacture, especially the glass used to make televisions. Potassium hydroxide is used to make liquid soaps and detergents. A little potassium chloride goes into pharmaceuticals, medical drips and saline injections. Other potassium salts are used in baking, photography and tanning leather, and to make iodize salts. In all cases it is the negative anion, not the potassium, which is the key to their use.

The term potash originally designated potassium carbonate, obtained by leaching wood ashes, but is now applied in general to a number of potassium compounds. Potassium carbonate (K2CO3), a white solid, also called potash or pearl ash, is obtained from the ash of wood or other burned plant materials, and by reacting potassium hydroxide with carbon dioxide. It is used in making glass and soft soap. Potassium chlorate (KClO3), called chlorate of potash, a white crystalline compound, is formed by the electrolysis of potassium chloride solution. It is a powerful oxidizing agent and is used in matches, fireworks, and explosives, as a disinfectant, and as a source of oxygen. Potassium chloride (KCl), a white crystalline compound commonly called chloride of potash or muriate of potash, is a common constituent of potassium salt minerals, from which it is obtained by volatilization. It is an important potassium fertilizer and is also used in making other potassium compounds. Potassium hydroxide (KOH), called caustic potash, a white solid that is dissolved by the moisture in the air, is prepared by the electrolysis of potassium chloride or by the reaction of potassium carbonate and calcium hydroxide; it is used in the manufacture of soap and is an important chemical reagent. It dissolves in less than its own weight of water, liberating heat and forming a strongly alkaline solution.

Potassium is a key plant element. Although it is soluble in water, little is lost from undisturbed soils because as it is released from dead plants and animal excrements, it quickly become strongly bound to clay particles, and it is retained ready to be readsorbed by the roots of other plants. Together with nitrogen and phosphorous, potassium is one of the essential macro minerals for plant survival. Its presence is of great importance for soil health, plant growth and animal nutrition. Its primary function in the plant is its role in the maintenance of osmotic pressure and cell size, thereby influencing photosynthesis and energy production as well as stomatal opening and carbon dioxide supply, plant and translocation of nutrients. As such, the element is required in relatively large proportions by the growing plant. The consequences of low potassium levels are apparent in a variety of symptoms: restricted growth, reduced flowering, lower yields and lower quality produce. High water soluble levels of potassium cause damage to germinating seedlings inhibits the uptake of other minerals and reduces the quality of the crop.

Potassium can be found in vegetables, fruit, potatoes, meat, bread, milk and nuts. It plays an important role in the physical fluid system of humans and assists nerve functions. Potassium, as the ion K+, concentrate inside cells, and 95% of the body’s potassium is so located. When our kidneys are somehow malfunctioning an accumulation of potassium will consist. This can lead to disturbing heartbeats. Potassium can affect us when breathed in. Inhalation of dust or mists can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, lungs with sneezing, coughing and sore throat. Higher exposures may cause a build up of fluid in the lungs, this can cause death. Skin and eye contact can cause severe burns leading to permanent damage.
