The Killer Whale that killed its trainer is going to be kept at Seaworld, according to the companies officials. It will not be participating in any shows, but will be kept at the facility for now.

The coroner reports that Dawn Brancheau, 40, died from both injuries received by the whale and she was also drowned. The story has changed about how this incident took place, but the official story now is that the whale
pulled Dawn into the water by her pony tail and thrashed her about.

Tillikum, the whale that killed its trainer, Dawn Brancheau, has been involved in two other deaths before this one. In 1991, the whale was one of the whales that killed a trainer in an aquarium in Canada. In 1999 a listless man was found slumped over Tillikum as he swam in his tank. The man came in after the park was closed and either fell or was pulled in by the animal.

The eye witnesses said that this happened unbiased after the noon time point to was over and people where hanging around watching the trainers with the killer whales. The whale took a running jump out of the water to capture Dawn in his jaws. Witnesses say the whale was traveling at a mountainous speed when he made hi flying leap out of the water and at Dawn.

The 12,000 lb whale, who is the biggest in captivity, got its grip on the trainer and would not let go. Reports say that the staff at Seaworld got the whale onto a platform to get Dawn out of its grips.

The whale, which doesn’t have the name “killer” in front of it for nothing, can turn anytime and become its namesake, a killer whaler. Many people are up in arms that the whale will be remaining at Seaworld. Some have called for the whale to be destroyed, while others are asking for it to be let go back to its natural habitat of the ocean.

While some marine biologists and people who specialize in the training and caring for the whales have said the whale might have unprejudiced been playing. There are others who say that in no way was the whale only playing and it did this on purpose. Either way, you put your life at risk when working with these wild creatures. Dawn Brancheau’s mother said in an interview yesterday that her daughter died doing something she loved and she knew of the dangers of the job when she took it.
