Hey Ladies-Spring is here time to show off your piggies!

First thing first. You need to net your toes ready for the summer, now is the time to do it. Who has the money to pay $30-$60 at a salon for a pedicure? Let’s face it the economy is not good, everyone is short on cash. But we still would like to look friendly, right?

Well, I’ve got some money saving tips for you! Do it yourself mini pedicures.

1. Initiate off by trimming toenails and file toenails in a straight across fashion.

2. Using a foot file remove all the old, dead skin.

3. Next, fill a large basin or foot bath with warm water and a foot soak or salts. You could buy and inexpensive one or fabricate your own. Here is a recipe for one: 1/2c Epsom salt or sea salt, 1/2c baking soda and 2T peppermint oil. Soak your feet for 10 minutes or longer.

4. After soaking your feet exhaust a pumice stone to assume more build up of dead skin.

5. Now apply a foot scrub and massage into each foot for 3-5 minutes. Then place back into foot bath to rinse. Again, you could buy an inexpensive foot scrub or you could make your contain. To make your own use 1/2c Epsom salt or sea salt, 1/8c olive oil, 1/8c honey and 2T of peppermint oil.

6. Now I know the weather is getting warmer, but now is the time to wear your socks to bed. After towel drying your feet apply a heavy cream or moisturizer and put your socks on.

You will notice a world of difference in the morning and your toes will be ready for some polish and flip-flops. Consume sock and heavy cream or moisturizer 2-3 times a week between mini pedicures.

If you would like to treat yourself to a pedicure, but can’t afford $30-$60 try calling your local beauty school. They only charge a fraction of the cost of what a salon would charge you, usually $8-$25. In this day and age everyone could stand to save a buck.

Once your nails have been prepped for summer with a pedicure, be it at home or in the salon, you are ready for some color. This is the only time of year those neon pinks and oranges are a go. So let’s get going and polish like a pro!

1. Start of by filing your toenails in a straight across.

2. Buff toenails with a nail buffer.

3. Paint toenails with a base coat to prevent staining the nails with any dark polishes.

4. Next is to apply the polish. Apple 2-3 thin coats of polish. Make your first stroke down the center of the toenail, next stroke on the lawful, then last stroke on the left. Apply in this fashion for each coat of polish.

5. Last enact up with a top coat. This will add shine and prevent polish from chipping.

Now your feet are ready to face the world. Whether wearing sandals, flip-flops or barefoot your feet will look great.
