Truth in advertising is a foreign view for some of today’s businesses. They will say anything; do anything to win their product sold. Some simply stretch the truth, while others blatantly lie. They are clever at what they do. Using the psychology of pricing, they establish a cost just high enough to “trick” the consumer into believing that it surely must work, if it costs that much. They package the product well and employ some pretty good advertising gimmicks like “money back guarantee.”

As seen on TV products tend to be the worst of the lot, which is too bad because, the truth is some these products actually work well. The trick is weeding out the poor ones to get to the good ones. I’ve taken on that task in an effort to help you – - the consumer – - consume your retail dollars well. I’ve expanded my focus to also cover products sold by television retailers like Home Shopping Network and QVC. Read the rest of this entry

I purchased Tiring, Sea Premier Luxury Collection Milk Cleanser along with all of my other Dead Sea and SeaCret products. I wanted to give it a try and see if it could benefit the skin on my face. It comes in an elegant-looking container with a pump mechanism that is easy to operate. I was surprised at the amount of natural ingredients this cleanser has, and I really like that this cleanser contains jojoba oil, which is a wonderful moisturizer, and that it is a major component of the formula instead of near the bottom of the ingredient list. It also contains chamomile extract and musk rose oil.

Now, Dead Sea Premier Luxury Collection Milk Cleanser is marketed as a facial cleanser. It’s supposed to balance and moisturize your skin and it’s especially made for normal or combination skin types, who have some oily areas and some dry areas of their faces. To use it, you are supposed to massage it onto your face and neck with your fingertips, and then consume it with toner. I regret to say the feeling of this cleanser on my face was not terribly pleasant. It felt overly greasy, as if I was applying sunscreen to my face. It also had something of a characteristic “sunscreen” smell to it as well. My skin did feel nice afterward, but I actually have found a better use for this cleanser. After my showers, I use it to moisturize my legs. I grabbed it by accident once thinking it was my moisturizer. After I had applied it to my legs I realized it wasn’t my moisturizer, but there was no blueprint you could tell by feeling how smooth my legs had become! I have continued to expend Dead Sea Premier Luxury Collection Milk Cleanser as a body lotion. It works splendidly as long as I apply it while my legs are still damp. Read the rest of this entry

So many people suffer from acne, hyperpigmentation, and other skin woes unnecessarily. There are natural, affordable remedies to these problems, and most can be cleared up within a matter of weeks. Give the following suggestions a try before shelling out big bucks for a dermatologist:

WATER
I’m listing water first because it’s probably the most well-known thing we can do to support our skin and keep it sure. Whether you’re dealing with dry skin or problem skin, you NEED water. Our skin’s hydration begins inside of us, and water is the only way to do that effectively. Water flushes toxins and impurities out of our bodies as well so it is critical to healthy skin. Water keeps our kidneys and liver functioning properly so it’s necessary to keeping our insides healthy. The recommended amount varies according to the source, but many suggest drinking half your weight in ounces of water. (Example: If you weight 100 lbs., drink 50 oz. of water since 100/2 = 50). Sugary drinks and carbonated beverages should be avoided when possible. Green tea and white tea are wonderful antioxidants. They help maintain youthful, healthy skin. Horsetail tea is high in silica, Read the rest of this entry

Every ounce of water on the earth’s surface has been a part of the ocean at one time or another. The oceans have become primary sources of economic livelihood. Many maritime industries throughout the world, including fishing, shipbuilding, transportation, and recreation depend on the oceans. They are the highways for commercial and passenger ships. However, it has become evident that pollution could burden future generations with dangerous and irreversible environmental damage.

Human beings discharge hundreds of thousands of tons of waste into the oceans every day. This pollution takes the form of raw and treated sewage, garbage, industrial wastes, deadly chemicals and heavy metals, radioactive waste, and oil. Each kind of waste can create its own type of danger. The heavy (or stamp) metals (Cd, Cs, Pb, Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, Fe, Mn, and Hg) are by products of manufacturing, which enter the marine environment through ocean and wind currents, sewage, and runoff from land, and through geochemical cycling from sediments into the marine food chain. Brand metals are by products of the manufacturing and ocean dumping of a host of items including automobiles, airplanes, batteries, and arms (e.g., explosives, nerve gases, and biological warfare agents). Similarly, plastics of all kinds are well known to entangle marine organisms and also may be ingested as plastic pellets, causing marine life to obtain full stomachs, but no nutrition. Nearly all are bio-concentrated in the oceanic food chain. Read the rest of this entry
